Just listening to Major Nelson’s podcast this morning, he ran an interview with a developer from the EA Tiger Woods 09 team. One of the big points they were discussing was the inclusion of a 4-player, simultaneous on-line mode. Where you can all play the hole at the same time and see the other players shots once you’ve finished the hole.

I couldn’t help but think “Welcome to 2004 you bastards! Microsoft Studios Links 2004 to be precise!”. I don’t know how Nelson held his tongue on that one. I wonder if this is down to Peter Moore’s influence in the EA studios? Getting EA upto speed.

I was having a quick gander at my friends list and the games they’ve played and I couldn’t help but notice hardly anyone has played BF: Bad Company. Now it could just be the thought of putting an EA title into your machine brings you out in a cold sweat or you played the demo and thought, nah don’t like that, if it’s the later ignore my advice.

My advice is simple give this title a whirl.

CPaladino, from Gamerscoreblog, has notched up 50 hours of gameplay on Too Human, the upcoming RPG game coming very soon for the 360. He has some tips for success in the game:

• Dying all the time?  Try a Commando class.  Go the Cybernetic alignment, pour your skill points into increasing slug rate of fire, and cannon range.
• Can’t see in combat?  Use the ISO camera view (down on the d-pad a few times)
• Get hit when jumping?  Use the “B” button - it’s a dodge, not just a roll.  Keep sliding from enemy to enemy to avoid getting surrounded
• Low on health?  Bio-engineers can regenerate, everyone else should find a glowing crystals (barrels) which give you a health boost when smashed with melee
• How to deal with polarity enemies?  If an enemy is fire, poison or ice you can keep your distance - but still attack in melee with a fierce attack (push LS and RS at the enemy simultaneously)
• Lost?  Look for clues in the environment, lights will pulsate in the direction you are supposed to head, doors will have animated lights around the frame of where you should go.
• Salvage system confusing?  At it’s simplest, look at the damage (for weapons), or armor (for gear) and use the one with the best number.  Salvage everything else for money to to purchase new gear, or craft items
• Charm system confusing?  Equip the charm, then “complete” it by inserting the proper runes into it after you have accomplished the specific objective for that charm.  Rare charms need common charms inserted into them rather than runes.

Eurogamer are running a story that informs of a new 360 gamepad that has a better D-Pad:

Microsoft has confirmed our earlier report that it plans to release a new Xbox 360 controller with an improved d-pad on 24th October.

“The new limited-edition green wireless controller offers enhancements to d-Pad functionality, which will add to the experience of playing games where the d-Pad is the primary control mechanism,” Microsoft told Eurogamer.

They also managed to get some photos of it too but there is a catch. The controller will be a limited release in certain areas (Europe included) and for a limited time while stocks last. So if you want one - get pre-ordering

Not really anything new - but you can now pick up a 360 Arcade for just £149.99 with delivery from our mates at Play.com. That is cheaper than a Wii and when you consider that you get all  the media ability and Silver Live membership for free, it’s not a bad deal.
